When William Beekman opened his Mercantile and built Beekman Farm in 1802, he was as far away from civilization as one might have been in those early days of America. As in many farming communities still today, ingenuity was essential. You can make something out of nothing, and our lighting implements from artist Matthew Stollmeyer prove just that.
Aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. The single bulb desk/table desk lamps: The tubing and fittings are classic Black Iron: Vintage style cloth-covered twisted two-wire cords and retro style plugs. Bulbs are standard based bulbs and can accept most any standard based bulb from incandescent to LED. We have used Edison style bulbs with the classic long filament in a tear drop style bulb.
