Joanna Beekman, the wife of Judge William Beekman, was the original mother at The Beekman Mansion. Having bore eight children in the early 19th century, we bet she knew a few tricks about natural healing treatments for babies. No doubt she had a Calendula flower patch in the yard. Calendula has long been used on children (and adults) to soothe skin inflammation and rashes. Chances are good that Joanna made her own milk soap, and maybe she added natural Calendula to it like we do.
Our Beekman 1802 Baby Soap comes in a box set of six bars that are approximately 1.2 oz each. Each one is the perfect small size for baby baths.
This Beekman 1802 Baby Soap is handmade from the milk of the Beekman goats, who graze freely on the land and drink the waters that once made Sharon Springs one of the most famous spa destinations in the world. This Beekman 1802 soap uses the highest percentage of pure goat milk possible in each bar. You may notice a faint layer of ash on the bottom of the soap, which washes away with first use. This ash affirms the bar is made from pure goat milk using non-chemical methods. Because of the seasonality of our ingredients, and the different chemical-free essential oils used for fragrance, there may be slight differences in color between all soaps. Each box set of Beekman 1802 Baby Soap with Calendula contains six 2 oz bars.
